She gets to pretend to be a mermaid and I get a break ~ November 14, 2013

About 32 weeks at this point...

My energy isn't what it use to be these days so any distraction I can find for Miss that doesn't involve tv or food is much appreciated. Even when she was a colicky infant, bath time saved both of us from complete meltdowns at times. I'm too big to climb in with her at this point but I can still sing her favorite songs and act them out. Because, hey, who doesn't want to laugh at a big pregnant lady shakin' it while singing badly.

Our bathroom has a pocket door so I have an unobstructed view of her in the bath from the hallway. I figured I might as well take a belly shot since I was in front of the mirror. Then I realized how tired I was and decided to roll my desk chair over. Then it dawned on me that from the same vantage point I could watch her and the tv without her being able to see it so on went the Daily Show...aaah, bliss. I just had to keep an eye on her and remember to burst out in song during the commercials.
She's impressed with herself that she can touch either end of the tub at once now. Her father and I still can't believe how tall she's gotten but she's only considered 90ish percentile for height...go figure.

Someone is very proud of her new ability to wash her own hair. Her father is relieved that he doesn't have to battle with her over this step any longer. I probably shouldn't admit to him that she barely puts up a fuss when I help her with her hair now. Then again, he can put her to bed without any fussing or dramatics unlike myself. Miss is particular.
